NIRAUC is a committee made up of members representing all of the major utilities and Roads Service, the single road authority for Northern Ireland, which is an Agency within the Department for Regional Development. There are also representatives from the motoring organisations, the AA and RAC

Quality and Safety Initiative 2008-2009, Gold Award Winners
The NIRAUC quality
award group has undertaken assessment of all contractors working on behalf
of utilities in Northern Ireland. The awards are based on the criteria
identified within the street works legislation. Meridian Utilities
Limited had been identified as the NIRAUC Contractors Quality and Safety
Initiative winners 2008-2009 and has been presented with the Gold Award.
The NIRAUC members invited Meridian Utilities to attend their meeting on 11th June 2009 at Roads Service Headquarters, Clarence Court, Belfast and were presented with the Gold Award.
